Lindsay Lohan has had a very turbulent time these last few years. After breaking onto the scene as a promising child actor, she appears to have found it very difficult to cope with the daily life of a celebrity and this has led to her having a difficult time. She has been admitted into drug rehabilitation clinics 3 times since 2007 and was put on a 3 year probation in that same year for cocaine use and for driving under the influence. Later that year, she spent nearly 4 days in prison; serving a very short period of time due to the non violent nature of her crime, and had her probation order extended by another year.

She appeared to be getting herself back to normal in 2009 but a break up with her girlfriend started her back on a downward spiral and she has recently breached her probation order at the Cannes film festival. A warrant was issued for her arrest after she failed to attend a routing DUI meeting and she has since been detained. After the hearing on July 6th where the details of how she had breached her probation were heard, Lohan was sentenced to 90 days in prison. She was remanded in custody on the 20th July and is expected to spend only 13 days in prison, due largely to the fact that her crime is non violent and that the prisons are currently overcrowded. She will attend rehab for three months after she is released from prison.
